Moppet: A small, endearingly sweet child
The Montford Moppets Youth Shakespeare Company gives students in Asheville, NC the space to ponder difficult topics and take ownership of themselves, their talents and their artistic ability. What began in 2009 as a drama class for a small group of local homeschoolers has evolved into a nonprofit youth-led theatre company.
Our Mission
The Montford Moppets Youth Shakespeare Company provides youths age 10 to 17 with opportunities to foster creativity and accountability through participation in classical theatre.
The Moppets strive to create innovative performances and educational experiences that connect area youth with each other and the wider community. We are committed to providing a safe space and equal access to WNC youths of all backgrounds and abilities.
