  • Commedia dell'Arte Level 2

Description goes hereCommedia dell'Arte Level 2

Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00-8:00pm beginning September 2.

For those who have completed Level 1 and demonstrated readiness through a skill-based progression, Level 2 offers a deeper, more personalized approach to the craft.

This course is an intimate exploration of your Commedia character(s), focusing on character refinement, status relationships, and identifying moments of virtuosity—those special, skillful sparks that elevate comedic storytelling.

Students will begin to listen to the ensemble and the audience, honing their timing, rhythm, and improvisational awareness through ensemble-driven devising. This level includes a costume-building workshop, where students craft original pieces to reflect their character’s world and personality.

Level 2 culminates in a public performance and the opportunity to perform at the Carolina Renaissance Festival.

*Interested students who have not completed Level 1 may join the class wth instructor permission.

  • Moppets Christmas Carol

This production offers young actors a rare opportunity to explore site-specific theatre — creating a performance that lives inside a local boutique hotel rather than on a traditional stage. Students will practice the art of theatre of place, learning how to use environment, movement, and audience interaction to tell a story in a dynamic, immersive way. Together, they’ll reimagine Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in a roaring 1920s, Gatsby-inspired setting, combining classic text with flapper flair, jazz rhythms, and Charleston dance. Along the way, students will build confidence, ensemble skills, physical theatre techniques, and the joy of shaping a beloved story into something entirely their own.
